ARE WE FINE WITH BLACK WOMEN BEING PORTRAYED AS GORILLAS ON TIKTOK?
Where’s the Outrage?
Let me ask a simple question: Why is nobody talking about this?
There are AI-generated videos and so-called "funny" TikToks floating around that show Black women as gorillas, monkeys, and savage beasts. And yet, I don’t see any smoke. No hashtags. No marches. No protests.
Is this what we've come to?
If this was happening to any other group of women, the whole internet would be on fire. There would be press conferences, tears, and lawyers lined up around the block. But when it's Black women, the world shrugs.
And worse — a whole lot of us laugh along with it.
What Do These Videos Say About Us?
These videos don’t come out of nowhere.
They feed off a stereotype that’s been around since slavery: that the Black woman is ugly, loud, animalistic, and worth less. These AI clips — where dark-skinned women are shown with exaggerated features, wild behavior, and animal grunts — are just digital minstrel shows.
But now it's worse, because some of our own people are sharing it and calling it “just jokes.”
Let’s Be Honest: Some of Us Are Co-Signing This
You can’t fix a problem until you call it out.
Too many of us are promoting this nonsense. Too many Black men repost it. Too many Black women laugh along to not be called out too.
Why are we okay watching ourselves being degraded?
Why do we think it’s okay to call our sisters “gorillas,” “apes,” or “hoodrats”?
Why do we support AI trash that tells the world we’re animals?
It’s because deep down, we’ve been programmed to hate ourselves. And now, we’ve learned to laugh at our own destruction.
Stereotypes Being Pushed
Every time these AI videos show up, they follow the same script:
Loud
Violent
Single mother of five
On welfare
Long lashes, loud mouth, no class
Obsessed with Gucci and clubbing
Can’t keep a man
Sound familiar?
That’s not every Black woman. But if you watch TikTok or AI content, you’d think that’s all we are.
That’s not fair. That’s not reality.
But it’s what the world wants to see us as — and now, we’re helping them push it.
Why Society Ain’t Saying Nothing
Ask yourself: if AI showed white women as pigs or Karens every day, would they sit quietly?
Of course not.
So why is society okay when it’s Black women?
Because they never respected us.
They’ve always seen us as entertainment, not people. As bodies, not souls.
And when we don’t speak up — we prove them right.
Where Are the Black Celebrities?
Where’s the outrage from all the woke celebrities?
Where’s the feminist talk show crowd?
Where are the rappers who claim to love their “Black queens”?
They’re silent because they know who’s paying their checks.
They’ll speak up for everyone else — but not for the women who look like their mothers.
Why?
Because the image of the Black woman has always been up for sale.
This Ain’t About Humor — It’s About Dehumanizing Us
Some people say, “It’s just a joke.”
Nah, that’s not how it works.
When something is repeated over and over, it becomes truth.
That’s how propaganda works.
That’s how hate spreads.
And when the next generation sees these clips, they won’t see beautiful Black women.
They’ll see animals.
And they’ll treat them that way.
We Can’t Blame The World If We Let It Happen
It’s one thing to be attacked. It’s another to help your attacker.
Black people — especially Black men — need to call this out.
Black women need to check this too.
Because silence is consent.
If we’re okay with this garbage, we’re telling the world that we see Black women as animals too.
And that’s a damn shame.
Final Thoughts
This isn’t about politics.
This is about dignity.
It’s about not letting AI, tech, and social media make a mockery of our women.
If we don’t defend the image of the Black woman, who will?
