Something is wrong with us. Deeply wrong. And it's not just one group or region. Whether you're from Africa, the Caribbean, or born and raised in the streets of America—Black people, globally, are falling for the same traps. We're chasing illusions. We're decorating ourselves while we rot on the inside. And the worst part? We think we're getting ahead.
We talk big about being conscious. We talk about unity, pride, and our rich history. We wear the clothes. We speak the lingo. We make films and music about empowerment. But behind closed doors, we’re divided. Jealous. Envious. Selfish. And spiritually empty. We worship the image of the West, but we ignore the soul of our ancestors.
Everyone wants to "change the narrative." That phrase has become trendy in movies, art, and media. It means: "Let’s show Africa in a better light." Let’s highlight our technology. Our cities. Our fashion. Let’s look advanced. Let’s look civilized. But the key word there is look. All surface. No substance.
Why do we care so much about how white people see us? Why are we dressing up the outside of our house while the inside is on fire? We want their praise, not our healing. We’re fixing the mirror while the face is bruised. That’s not power. That’s a performance.
And that performance is killing us. We’ve traded our spiritual health, our community ties, our family values—for validation from people who never truly respected us in the first place. It’s time to stop painting the walls and fix the foundation.
The Rotten Core Behind the Makeup
We love to appear strong, smart, and stylish. But when you look closer, what do you see? Confusion. Jealousy. Betrayal. We spend money we don’t have. We compete instead of cooperate. We hate each other in silence, then ask why we have no progress. The truth is ugly, but we need to face it.
This need to impress the outside world has infected our film industry too. Some filmmakers say, "Let’s show skyscrapers, nice highways, big malls." But for what? Who are you trying to impress when half the city has no electricity? When the elevators don’t work and people are carrying jugs of water up 16 flights of stairs?
That’s not progress. That’s a photoshoot for people who don’t even live there. That’s building high-rises on broken soil. If we don't have the basics—clean water, working power, honest leaders—what are we showing off for?
Instead of building for our people, we’re building for approval. That’s why the infrastructure doesn’t last. That’s why we copy things that aren’t built for us. The Western model is not our model. And our people suffer because we’re trying to be something we’re not. And worse—something we were never supposed to be.
We used to be self-sufficient. We used to live with the land. We used to be spiritually grounded. When we were "primitive," we were also protected. Now, we’re exposed—just like a woman wearing nothing, wondering why she keeps getting attacked. We make ourselves targets, then cry when we’re hit.
The Poison We Keep Injecting
We are being poisoned—physically and mentally. And we’re letting it happen. They hit us with propaganda, with injections, with distractions, with lies. And we line up for it. Again and again. Syringe after syringe. Message after message. Until we can't even think for ourselves anymore.
And then we turn on each other. We fight over dumb labels like ADOS, FBA, B1, tethers. We argue about who’s more Black, more authentic, more woke. Meanwhile, we destroy good people and burn bridges that should be roads. We boycott each other, we slander each other, and we divide what little strength we have left.
We’ve been conditioned to hate ourselves. To hate our businesses. To hate our reflection. And once that seed was planted, we watered it. The result is that now, the world doesn't even need to destroy us. We’re doing it ourselves.
We are the only group that begs others to see our value. “Black Lives Matter”—but to who? Who are we really talking to? We're not talking to ourselves, because if we were, we’d respect each other. We wouldn’t kill each other. We wouldn’t sabotage each other’s growth.
The external destruction is real, yes. But the internal destruction is worse. The inside is rotting faster than the outside. And if we don’t stop, if we don’t wake up, there won’t be anything left to save.
We keep calling for a revolution, but we forget it starts within. There’s no changing the world until we change ourselves. Until we clean our hearts, fix our minds, and restore our unity, all we’re doing is dressing up a corpse.
Every act of self-hate, every betrayal, every petty fight—we add to our own downfall. While the world poisons us from the outside, we weaken ourselves from the inside. And now, we’re being crushed between those two forces.
This is beyond religion. Beyond politics. It doesn’t matter if you’re Muslim, Christian, or atheist. This is about truth. About survival. About finally being honest with ourselves. We are in a deep pit, and the rope to climb out starts with personal accountability.
Stop showing off. Start healing. Stop performing. Start building. Don’t wait for approval. Reclaim your dignity. And most of all—love your people, not just in words, but in action. Because if we don’t, there will be nothing left to love.
We need a miracle—but not just from above. We need a miracle from within. We need a resurrection of spirit. And it starts today, with you.
Yes sir, we are very much in deep trouble with in. We've been this way for a long time. And you are correct in your assessment. However, the only difference in this wave of traveling is we have started to recognize the false passengers amongst us. I don't need to go in details I believe you overstand. Again, the black Americans are exceptional 👏🏽 and have been at war for generations. We have to prioritize our healing as you say, then we can get back to helping others.
