STOP SEARCHING FOR GOD IN MAN...
Too many of us are still out here looking for God in a man. We fall for smooth talk, shiny suits, booming voices, and fake holy words. It’s like we forgot that the Creator already gave us a direct connection. We don't need a middleman. But every time we turn around, we’re bowing our heads to some new so-called “leader” who claims they’ve got the way, the truth, and the life. And too often, that path leads to confusion, pain, and betrayal.
Let’s be real: we are a spiritual people. Always have been. But that deep connection we have? It got hijacked. It got wrapped up in European systems during slavery. We were beaten, broken, and stripped of our original spiritual traditions. And then they handed us a Bible, told us our way was evil, and said, “Now, worship like this.” Ever since then, many of us have been looking for God outside ourselves instead of within.
Some folks may argue that Christianity or Islam are ours, that we made them our own. That’s not the point. The point is we’ve been trained to obey—not think. We were taught to follow—not connect. So now, when someone shows up with charisma, dressed sharp, speaking well, we fall right in line. We hand over our hearts, our minds, and our wallets.
But here’s the danger—when you think someone else is closer to God than you, you’ll do anything they say. You’ll ignore that quiet voice inside that tells you something ain't right. You’ll silence your own spirit because you think you’re not worthy, and they are. And that’s where the deception begins. That’s where these fake leaders get their power.
This isn’t just about church. This is bigger than religion. This is about how we’ve been programmed to give up our power and worship human beings. We do it with preachers. We do it with celebrities. We do it with fake “conscious” YouTubers. And every time we get played, we cry about it—but never stop doing it. That has to end now.
1. The Pulpit Pimps
You know the ones. They call themselves pastors, bishops, or prophets. But they’re running a hustle. They preach prosperity while their congregation struggles. They say, “Sow a seed,” while they buy jets, mansions, and Gucci shoes. They speak about God, but live for gold. And somehow, we keep letting them in. We let them lead us while they mislead us. These preachers know how to act holy, but they live filthy. They speak in tongues on Sunday and slide in DMs on Monday.
2. The YouTube Prophets
These new ones are slick. They don’t need a pulpit. They got a camera, a ring light, and a PayPal. They mix just enough truth with lies to sound deep. They say, “Wake up, family,” but they’re just here to go viral. They call it “spiritual talk,” but it’s recycled words from someone else’s book. These influencers are not here for your growth—they’re here for your money, your likes, and your loyalty. They make you feel like you’re learning, but they’re just pimping your pain.
3. The Conscious Charlatans
Some wear beads and dashikis. Some talk about chakras, ancestors, and Africa. But they still move like con artists. Don’t let the African names fool you—scams come in all languages. Some claim they’ve been “chosen” to guide the people. They sell fake spiritual retreats, overpriced books, or snake oil healing. Many prey on women looking for protection, men looking for purpose. Their goal isn’t to free you—it’s to feed off you.
4. The Celebrity Saviors
We praise athletes, actors, and entertainers like they’re messiahs. Just because they got fame, we think they have wisdom. Just because they cried on stage or spoke about God, we give them the microphone to our minds. But these people aren’t leaders. They’re just faces on screens. They don’t know your struggle. They don’t live your life. And if you think they care more about you than their next check, you’re already lost.
5. The Romantic Deceivers
Yes, even in love, we get fooled. Some men come into a woman’s life talking about God to break down her guard. “I’m a man of God,” he says—but he’s really a man of games. He studies the language of the righteous but lives like the wicked. And some women fall for it because they’re already cut off from their own divine voice. When you don't feel connected to your Creator, you’ll reach for someone who pretends to be.
We have to stop giving away our power. We have to stop placing men on thrones and calling them holy. No man is God. No preacher is your path. No influencer can save your soul. You already have the key inside of you. But you gotta quiet the noise to hear it. You gotta detox from the world to feel it. You gotta live right to reconnect.
If you’re out here chasing men, you will always be lost. Because men are flawed. Men lie. Men cheat. Men fall. But the Creator? That connection is never broken unless you break it. Every time you follow a fraud, it’s not because they fooled you—it’s because you ignored the truth already in your gut.
And let’s talk about guilt. A lot of us are so deep in sin, so caught up in lust, greed, status, and dirt, that we feel unworthy. So instead of cleaning ourselves up, we go running to some man with a title and think he can clean us. He can’t. Only you and the Most High can fix that. No shortcuts. No middlemen.
Black people, we’ve been lied to for too long. Slavery didn’t just steal our bodies—it stole our minds and our spirits. But the chains are off now. And if you’re still looking for someone to tell you who God is, when you should already know, you’re still enslaved. Not by a master—but by your own ignorance.
It’s time to stop looking up to these frauds and start looking within. You don’t need a stage. You don’t need a choir. You don’t need a donation line. All you need is silence, truth, discipline, and a willingness to walk the path that was always yours. The Creator never left. You did. Now go back and reclaim your divine connection.
