The Dangers of Leaving Children Unattended

Leaving children home alone can have tragic consequences. In 1993, two separate fires in Detroit resulted in the deaths of 11 children under the age of 10 who had been left unsupervised. Such incidents underscore the critical importance of proper child supervision.

The Absence of Father Figures

The decline in two-parent households has led to a noticeable absence of father figures in many Black families. In 2021, 64% of Black children lived in single-parent families. The presence of a responsible father can provide emotional support, financial stability, and guidance, reducing the likelihood of neglectful situations.
